Kidence is a parental digital-wellness application that helps parents and legal guardians understand their child's device-usage habits. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Kidence mobile app.
From the parent/guardian (account holder):
About each child you register:
We use the collected device-usage events to generate behavioral insights — total screen time, app-switching patterns, late-night usage, and similar metrics — which we present back to you in the Kidence dashboard. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to target ads.
We process your data and your child's data based on your consent as the parent or legal guardian (Section 7 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). You provide this consent during account registration via the explicit checkbox. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your Kidence account.
We retain raw usage events for 90 days, after which they are aggregated into long-term summary metrics. Aggregated metrics are retained for the life of your account. When you delete your account, all personally-identifying data is removed within 30 days.
As the parent/guardian and account holder, you have the right to:
To exercise any right, email us at [email protected].
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We follow industry-standard security practices but no system is perfectly secure; you accept this residual risk by using Kidence.
Kidence uses third-party cloud infrastructure (Supabase for the database, Railway for the application backend). These providers may store data in data centers outside India. Our agreements with these providers contractually obligate them to apply equivalent protections.
Kidence is designed to be installed by a parent or legal guardian on the device of a minor child under their care. We do not create accounts directly with children, and the child is not a user of the parent dashboard. The child whose device is being monitored is identified only by an age value; no other PII about the child is collected. We rely on your assertion (at registration) that you are the parent or legal guardian with authority to consent to this monitoring.
If we make material changes, we will notify you via the email on file and require fresh consent before continuing to process data under the new terms.
