Kidence is a parental digital-wellness application that helps parents and legal guardians understand their child's device-usage habits. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Kidence mobile app.

About each child you register:
We collect only what is reasonably necessary to provide the service, and nothing more.
We do not use advertising cookies, advertising identifiers, or third-party ad-tracking, and we do not allow advertisers to track you or your child. To operate and improve the app, the Kidence app uses a small set of Google Firebase services: Firebase Cloud Messaging (to deliver push notifications), Firebase Crashlytics (crash and error diagnostics), and Firebase Analytics (aggregate, in-app usage statistics that help us understand how the app is used and make it better). These tools are used solely to run and improve Kidence — never to show you ads or to build advertising profiles. The Kidence website serves only informational and legal pages and does not set advertising cookies.
We use the collected device-usage events to generate behavioral insights — total screen time, app-switching patterns, late-night usage, and similar metrics — which we present back to you in the Kidence dashboard. We also use account and diagnostic information to operate, secure, support, and improve the service.
We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your or your child's data for advertising or cross-app ad-targeting. We share data only in these limited situations:
We process your data and your child's data on the basis of your consent as the parent or legal guardian. You provide this consent during account registration via the explicit checkbox, and again whenever our terms materially change. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your Kidence account, which ends the service.
We retain your child's device-usage data — both the raw usage events and the daily summary metrics derived from them — for up to 90 days on the Premium plan and up to 7 days on the Free plan (plus a short grace period), after which it is automatically and permanently deleted. When you delete your account, all personally-identifying data is removed within 30 days.

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We follow industry-standard security practices but no system is perfectly secure; you accept this residual risk by using Kidence.
If a personal-data breach occurs that is likely to put you or your child at risk, we will act to contain it and will notify the relevant data-protection authority without undue delay, and where feasible within 72 hours of becoming aware of it. Where the breach is likely to result in significant harm, we will also notify the affected users by email on file, describing what happened, the data involved, the steps we have taken, and any action you should take.
We use a small number of trusted third-party providers to run Kidence, each under a contract that requires them to protect your data and use it only to provide their service to us:
These providers may store and process data in data centers located in various countries, which may be different from the country where you live. Where data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) so that it remains protected wherever it is held.
Kidence is built around data minimization for children: about each monitored child we hold only the name or nickname you provide, the child's birth month and year (used to determine an age group), any optional gender, country, and time zone you set, and device-usage events — no photo, no exact date of birth, no message/call/photo content, no browsing history, and no precise location.
Kidence is designed to be installed by a parent or legal guardian on the device of a minor child under their care. We do not create accounts directly with children, and the child is not a user of the parent dashboard. The child's data is collected and administered on your behalf, as the parent or guardian. We rely on your assertion (at registration) that you are the parent or legal guardian with authority to consent to this monitoring.
You can review your child's data at any time in the Kidence dashboard, and you can delete it — along with all other account data — by deleting your account. We never use a child's data for advertising or profiling.
If we make material changes, we will notify you via the email on file and require fresh consent before continuing to process data under the new terms.

If a concern remains unresolved, you may lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your country, where one exists.
